The Royal Yacht Squadron, the Royal London Yacht Club and the Royal
Corinthian Yacht Club together with the Metre class association have issued
a press release confirming their commitment to the development of Cowes
Classics Week, as it is to be known, following the successful event in
2008.
As part of the 2009 week the Royal London Yacht Club will again be
organising the Metre and Classic Keelboat Regatta but other Cowes clubs may
assist with the race management as an increased number of classes are
expected. Racing will be over four days from the 21 to 24 July 2009.
In parallel with this the British Classic Yacht Club will be running their
Classic Yacht Regatta for classic yachts and cruisers.
A full programme of social events is planned for the metre and classic
keelboats including a joint event with the classic yachts and cruisers.
The Notice of Race for the Metre and Classic Keelboat Regatta will be
posted on this website and the website below shortly.
Entries will be via an online system which will be installed on this
website.
