Royal London Yacht Club
JANUARY 2009 NEWSLETTER

The Commodore and Flag Officers wish all Members a very Happy New Year.

Fantastic; the New Years Eve Party was a total sell out and thoroughly enjoyed by all and was followed by New Years Day lunch with the dining room filled to capacity.

An especial thank you in particular to Daphne Bates who masterminded “The Revue”, unbelievably hilarious; to Richard Carver for his accordion accompaniments and to the Commodore and his mellifluously melodic Gladiatorial Legionnaires.

EGM held on 31st December 2008

As no further nominations were received Mr Rodney Barton and Mr Geoff Dawson have now been formally appointed as Trustees of the Club. The Club now has four Trustees, they join the existing Trustees, Mr R L Bradbeer and Mr DB Cheverton.

Sound system

A substantially upgraded sound system has been installed in the London Room, thanks to an anonymous donation.

Youth Fund Chris Rashley 49er rig purchase fund

Once again, due to Members extreme generosity the £5,000 target has been reached and Chris is well on his way to the next stage.
