Of the six Daring Team members racing two boat team racing against the Royal Perth Yacht Club four members are RLYC Members. Team Captain and helm David Gower, Benjamin Gower, David Walters and past Commodore and helm Jamie B Clark. The other two members are Camilla Lofts and Robert Laird.

The Royal Perth YC and defending team, have proven to be great sports and generous hosts. As you may imagine the weather is perfect with no tides and a steady breeze which conveniently increases during the day to 15 knots.

I am sorry to report that we shall once again return to Cowes with the runner up position and the Bramble Bowl. Although we lost the series the racing was much closer than the final result suggests. It is clear again that the Daring Team suffer from insufficient training.

Our competitors of course are still in season and team race frequently as part of their sailing program. They also have a huge gene pool of 2000 members including many youngsters fast of thought and learning! I have some ideas as to how we may change our fortunes for the future and will discuss upon return.
