Royal London Cowes Week Programme of Events
Carousel Ball We are on course for an excellent evening. For those
who do not wish to make up a whole table, Club tables are available. This
year’s Ball promises to be a fun filled night of entertainment and a
spectacular start to a fabulous week.

The new Fine Dining Lunches and Dinners are proving very popular. They will
be available in the dining room every day from £25 for a la carte 3 course
Lunch and from £29.50 for a la carte Dinner. The dress code is jacket and
tie, so please book soon as tables are filling very quickly.
Please also remember to book your Cowes Week Badges for your Guests that
you wish to bring to the Club during Cowes Week. Booking forms and menus

Dining Room Redecoration Now a gentle ivory decor with subtle
lighting, giving a very light and airy feel, an excellent backdrop for Club
pictures. Very many thanks to the two Members who kindly sponsored this
project and also once again to Jeremy Seale for his interior design
expertise.
Rally - Itchenor Sailing Club 11/12th July Members are invited to

Metre and Classic Keel boat Regatta 20th/24th July Following last
years’ great success the Royal London is again hosting this event
starting with competitor’s registration on Monday 20th July, racing
starts Tuesday finishing late morning on Friday 24th July. During the week
a Club Supper is available for non competing Members and competitors as is
the Salmon and Strawberry Dinner on Thursday evening and Curry Lunch on
Friday 24th which includes the Regatta prizegiving. Do come along and
support the Club and competitors – details from the Secretary. For

Commodore’s Rally Sunday 9th August (Payment with booking please,
via the Secretary telephone 01983 299 727) Always a very jolly party and
this year to be held on the Island at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club,
Wootton which makes the event accessible not only by sea (moorings
available) but by car and the Commodore wishes to extend a very warm
welcome to non sailing Members who may not always have had the opportunity
to attend this event. Please note HW 1415
1200 approx By sea - arrive at RVYC for raft up – mooring fee £5 for a
short stay - any vessel. 1230 to 1330 Drinks at 80 Fishbourne Lane, Wootton
kindly hosted by Roger and Bev Sutton 1330 to 1500 Carvery buffet lunch at
Royal Victoria YC – 2 courses plus coffee £12 per head 1500 to departure
Free time, but for those on board, as the afternoon wears on with the usual
singing, merry making and a little dozing – watch the tide!
The Sea Horse Rally 2009, Deauville 24th to 30th August Cocktail
Parties, Horse Racing, Golf and Polo, Lunches, Dinners, Casino and of
course Sailing and if you have any time (or energy) remaining enjoy the
delights of Deauville and surrounding area. Members of the Royal London,
together R. Thames, R. Southern, R. Southampton, R. Lymington, R. Motor
Yacht, R Dorset, and R. Naval VR are again being offered a great welcome by
Deauville Yacht Club. All welcome, by land, air or sea (no harbour dues
payable). Members can take part in the whole weeks exciting programme or
select individual events to suite their timetable. Further information

Clay Shoot on the Isle of Wight 26th September. The Royal Solent
Yacht Club has invited the Royal London to enter a team of 5 guns. To be
held at Island Gun Club, Godshill. Cost £45 which includes a generous
supply of clays and lunch at the Royal Solent Yacht Club. Please contact
the Secretary to book.
Visitors to the Club The General Committee wish to remind Members
that their Guests must be signed on arrival in the Visitor’s Book located
on the reception desk and a notice has been published to this effect.
