THE PLAN
It is intended to hold a Club Rally to the Channel Islands and North Brittany starting in Cowes on Friday 13 August and finishing in Cowes on Thursday 2 September.
The Rally is open to all RLYC yachts and power boats and also to any RLYC Members without boats who might wish to join in any part of the Rally by ferry, air, train or car. Ports of call have been specifically chosen to include a number of venues that have regular car/passenger ferry access and/or airports, so that any Member can easily join in.
The intention is that, weather permitting, three RLYC lead boats, MARIE CLAIRE QUAYLINE II and CENTIME will carry out the itinerary shown below, and will provide base facilities for any non boating RLYC Members wishing to join in for any part of the Rally. All participants will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation.
The lead boats will transit from port to port at the times specified at an SOA of 20 kts, weather permitting. Any other RLYC boats, whether sailing yachts or power boats, are invited to join in either the entire programme or elements of it depending on their individual availability and passage speeds. The programme allows sufficient time in each port for slower vessels to arrive in good time for an RLYC Rally Run Ashore before the lead boats depart for the next port of call. The ETDs and ETAs of the lead boats are shown below, and times of High Water at key times at key ports are listed separately.
