The Cumberland cup is the most prestigious team racing event in the Royal Thames Yacht Club calendar.

It was first staged 8 years ago as an invitational event for senior yacht clubs and each time since inception it has attracted entries form all over the world and been keenly competed.

The next event is to be held on May 10th-13th at Queen Mary reservoir in the J80’s fleet jointly owned by the RTYC and RYS. There is a reception at St James Palace on the evening of the 12th.

The Royal London Yacht Club has entered a team made up from Daring Class members, RYS and RCYC members styled Island Royals.

Other teams are Eastern Y.C. (Marblehead, MA), New York Y.C. Seawanhaka Corinthian YC, Southern YC (New Orleans), Royal Northern & Clyde YC (Scotland), Royal Perth YC (Australia).

Spectators are very welcome and promised some excellent viewing of top class team racing!
