for The Patrick Egan Salver and The Dr Bown Salver
Sunday 15 May – Sunday 12 June - Sunday 4 September – Sunday 16 October
The Britannia Challenge series is a pleasant way to enjoy a Sunday morning, a short race followed by a curry lunch in the Clubhouse.
A shoreline start ensures a good course can be set to suit all conditions. Starting signals are by radio only.
This is an ‘Open Regatta’ and very much aimed at encouraging those who maybe new to racing.
Racing is under the RLYC HandicapTCF System which is based on a conversion table from IRC to HN and allows adjustment to suit conditions before the start.
Competitors will be asked by VHF prior the warning signal to choose their sail configuration for each race and handicapped accordingly. This not a white sail only series as has been the case in the past.
In the event of very light winds the race committee may elect before or during the race to transfer to Sail & Power. Yachts shall record their engine ‘on and off’ times and an adjustment will be made to their results, according to the amount of engine time used
Please see the notice of race on the Club web site www.rlyc.org.uk and follow the links or contact the secretary@rlyc.org.uk for an entry form.
