Royal London Yacht Club Royal London Yacht Club Burgee

Racing
Racing events are organised by different clubs at different times and the RLYC prides itself on the quality of its regatta organisation. Individual members race enthusiastically in local, national and international classes.

Cruising
In addition to the Deauville Weekend, the Club organises a number of rallies for cruising and motor yacht members. Some of these are one day events, of necessity confined within the Solent area and focused on a specific theme or point of interest. The others are held over two or more days going beyond home waters with a night stop, usually at the facilities of another Club. The day rallies enable members without boats to get afloat, and the Secretary acts to introduce such members to boat owners with spare berths.

Facilities
During weekends, a launch service is provided for Members and Royal Thames members. The Club also has a limited number of short term and permanent moorings. A swinging mooring is situated immediately in front of the Clubhouse and four pontoon moorings lie on the Medina River adjacent to the Whitegates Yard. Royal London berths occupy the up-river end of a long pontoon that is also used by the RYS and RTYC. Use of the clearly identified swinging mooring is free to members wearing the Club burgee, and it may be occupied for periods of up to 24 hours. The outer face of the pontoon may also be used without cost by members wearing the Club burgee in this case for periods of up to 14 days. Longer periods, for which a fee is charged, may be negotiated with the Secretary. A fee is also charged for the inner berths, on a season or for shorter periods. The General Committee reviews mooring fees annually. Special arrangements apply to Cowes Week period. The Clubhouse provides showers, limited drying space and lockers.

Club accommodation is spread over four floors. The ground floor includes the Lower Bar and the Dining Room. The Drawing Room occupies the front of the first floor and includes the balcony with perhaps the best view in Cowes. The first floor also contains main toilet facilities, showers and a drying room. A corridor, used as a Photographic Gallery, connects the London Room, the external Quarter Deck and an enclosed lawn. The first floor also provides access to the Secretary's Office. Seven twin bedrooms and two single rooms, together with associated bathroom and toilet facilities, are situated on the third and fourth floors.
