The London Launch is now back in service
The Coxswain has been working hard over the last few weeks to get the Launch ready for the season. It was lifted back into the water on Thursday and is now operational from the London Landing. Times are on the website and in the Foyer at the Club.

John Caulcutt to give a talk to the Etchells Youth Academy

Congratulations to our members who were nominated and to the winners on the evening at the British Yachting Awards
Two Royal London Yacht Club members were nominated in the British Yachting Awards 2018. Giles Peckham – Award Category 'Amateur Sailor' and Will Bedford – Award Category 'Young Sailor of the Year'. Our Members joined an elite group by way of their nominations and we are really thrilled for them. Even though they didn't win on the night, the nominations alone were extremely prestigious. ***** Both nominees talked about their sailing.

A busy day for Sail Training in the Solent
The official report from ASTO. In between the thick fog and the gale-force winds the Association of Sail Training Organisations (ASTO) managed to fit in its 15th annual Small Ships Race on Saturday. This Cowes based event, on the first Saturday every October, saw 22 sailing vessels crewed by 190 trainees aged between 12 and 24 race West from the Royal Yacht Squadron start line, down to Lymington, and back. Cannonball Trophy 2018 - RLYC Winners
On the weekend of October 6 th /7 th , the British fleet took on their Irish and Dutch counterparts in a series of ferocious sea battles in the waters of Dublin Bay. Younger Members September Weekend Report
At the beginning of September RLYC hosted our fourth Younger Members (YM) Weekend. This was terrific success, following a similar format to the previous events. The attendees arrived on the Friday evening, for an informal dinner at the Club. During the day on the Saturday and Sunday some members kindly took the YM and guests out on the water for some fabulous sailing experience. Race officer report from the Contessa 32 Regatta 15th/16th September 2018
The RLYC welcomed the Contessa 32 fleet, of six competitors, over the weekend of 15th and 16th September. We were blessed with a decent SW breeze on both days which made setting the races a very pleasant task. Saturday commenced with three laps of a windward leeward course with mile long legs which kept the crews busy, followed after a short break, by a less demanding navigational race to finish in Osborne Bay.

RLYC Youth Academy team at the Etchells North American Championships
Recently, the Royal London Yacht Club supported a team from our Etchells Youth Academy - consisting of William Bedford, Fraser Woodley, William Birch-Tomlinson and Ella Bennett – at the Etchells North American Championships in Chicago. 8 races across three days of light winds sailing against some of the top Etchells sailors, including the current and several past World Champions, made for an extremely tough event.
