Rally to Royal Solent Yacht Club, Yarmouth
Published 11:16 on 22 Jul 2019
What a fantastic Rally to Yarmouth, despite a very wet passage to and arrival in Yarmouth. But this was followed by a very 'wet' Gin and Tonic party on-board Vicki and Neil's Quayline, featuring some local 'PondWater' Gin. However, the evening could only go downhill, when Yarmouth failed to provide supper despite it only being 2130!! A hasty bijou supper was provided on Merlin- Thank you Sian and Mark. A further damp night, but we were met with bright sunshine on Saturday and a 'split fleet' long lunch of Lobster aboard Quayline or Prawns and Moules in the wonderful new garden at The George. We then retreated back to Little Mermaid for an impromptu drinks party before attending the Royal Solent Yacht Club. (Little Mermaids bows were 6 inches up due the the 12 people sitting in the cockpit and pulpit.) And so we drifted to the Royal Solent to be greeted by our very own Commodore, David, Peter Haworth and Trisha who had arrived in Matchless 2 (a hasty last minute but welcome decision). There followed champagne and a wonderful setting sun view on the balcony followed by a marvelous 3 course dinner. Late night drinks aboard Richard and Judith Southwell's boat until we knocked it on the head at 0200. The next day after a slow breakfast, the Royal London Fleet departed. Thank You Sian and Mark for organising another epic Rally.
Next Rally- Commodores to the Royal Victoria in Fishbourne 18th Aug.
