RYA Regional Race Officer Course

About the course:
This course is an official RYA Regional Race Officer Qualification. The course will be run for two days at the club and is a fully classroom based course, there are some pre-course activities & reading to do before the course which will be sent with your booking confirmation.
The regional courses are the first steps to gaining the RYA Regional Race officer qualification. Prior experience in race officiating is an advantage, but it is not compulsory as the course will teach you all you need to know in order to officiate at club events. This course will focus on Race Management for those who wish to expand their knowledge. You will need to be familiar with the Race Management Guide, as well as the Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024.
At the end of the course, you will complete a 65 minute online exam. This exam result and course attendance will fulfil one of the requirements to be appointed as a RYA Regional Race Officer (RRO). The other RRO requirements can be found on the RYA website.
