A busy day for Sail Training in the Solent
The official report from ASTO. In between the thick fog and the gale-force winds the Association of Sail Training Organisations (ASTO) managed to fit in its 15th annual Small Ships Race on Saturday. Cannonball Trophy 2018 - RLYC Winners
On the weekend of October 6 th /7 th , the British fleet took on their Irish and Dutch counterparts in a series of ferocious sea battles in the waters of Dublin Bay. Younger Members September Weekend Report
At the beginning of September RLYC hosted our fourth Younger Members (YM) Weekend. This was terrific success, following a similar format to the previous events. The attendees arrived on the Friday evening, for an informal dinner at the Club. During the day on the Saturday and Sunday some members kindly took the YM and guests out on the water for some fabulous sailing experience. Race officer report from the Contessa 32 Regatta 15th/16th September 2018
The RLYC welcomed the Contessa 32 fleet, of six competitors, over the weekend of 15th and 16th September. We were blessed with a decent SW breeze on both days which made setting the races a very pleasant task. Saturday commenced with three laps of a windward leeward course with mile long legs which kept the crews busy, followed after a short break, by a less demanding navigational race to finish in Osborne Bay.

RLYC Youth Academy team at the Etchells North American Championships
Recently, the Royal London Yacht Club supported a team from our Etchells Youth Academy - consisting of William Bedford, Fraser Woodley, William Birch-Tomlinson and Ella Bennett – at the Etchells North American Championships in Chicago. 8 races across three days of light winds sailing against some of the top Etchells sailors, including the current and several past World Champions, made for an extremely tough event.
